45,000 TPA farm & food waste co-digestion biogas plant in Leicestershire (UK)

A farm in Leicestershire has installed an anaerobic digestion facility which will co-digest around 45,000 tonnes per year of food and farm waste to produce biogas, around 2 MW of electricity and 43,000 tonnes of fertiliser. According to BCI Process the pig unit on the farm produces 18,000 tonnes of liquid manure each year, with other farming operations producing 2000 tonnes of manure.
